Nifty, Sensex Continue to Trend Up – Monday Closing Report

On Monday, the indices opened gap up and ended with gain. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), 1,562 stocks advanced, 532 declined and 67 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 2.94, indicating strength in broader markets.
The trend of the major indices on Monday’s trading are given in the table below:
On NSE, 20 stocks advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 26 stocks sank to close at their new 52-week lows. The broader market indices outperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small rising 0.87% and 1.57% respectively. All Sectorial indices ended in green with Nifty IT and Nifty Metal being the biggest gainers.
Paras Defence has signed letter of intent for transfer of technology for optical imaging systems developed by ISRO from NSIL (New Space India Limited). Sakthi Sugars closed more than 6% higher as the company is looking to sell Dhenkanal Plant to Indian Potash.
Aurobindo Pharma has received warning letter from SEBI on 24 June regarding USFDA audit of Unit-1 and observations made from 2019-2022. It mentioned ‘Company did not disclose detailed reasons & did not consider US FDA observations serious’. The stock closed in the red. 
Bajaj Auto board has approved buyback of up to Rs 2,500 crore at a maximum price of Rs 4,600 crore per share via open market. The stock closed in green.
Hikal Limited closed 3% higher after Bombay High Court asked Pollution Control Board to allow the company to restart manufacturing at Taloja Unit.
Government has appointed CBDT member Nitin Gupta as Chairman of CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes).
China has asked its banks to prepare for longer Yuan trading hours. SBI Cards closed in green after its credit cards spend reached record spending in May.
Zomato closed more than 6% down after the company signed Rs 4,447 crore deal to acquire Blinkit. Dish TV closed 4% higher after its MD Jawahar Lal Goel resigned.
