Nifty, Sensex remains under pressure from global factors – Wednesday closing report

We had mentioned in Tuesday’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex may move sideways. On Wednesday, the indices opened higher but ended in the red with minor losses. On the NSE, there were 887 advances, 1,088 declines and 61 unchanged.
The trends of the major indices in the course of Wednesday’s trading are given in the table below:
Cadila Healthcare has informed the exchanges that a consortium of investors—Multiples Alternate Asset Management, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Rare Enterprises—will buy its animal healthcare business for Rs 2,921 crore. 
Siemens consolidated profit came in at Rs 334.4 crore against Rs 175.7 crore YoY. Revenue increased to Rs 3,483.7 crore from Rs 2,640.2 crore YoY. 
Kalpataru Power consolidated profit grew manifold to Rs 174 crore compared to Rs 31 crore YoY. Revenue jumped to Rs 4,086 crore from Rs 3,527 crore YoY. 
Asian Paints net profit jumped 81% to Rs 870 crore versus Rs 480.2 crore YoY. Revenue went up 43.5% to Rs 6,651.4 crore against Rs 4,635.4 crore, YoY. 
Jindal Steel & Power reported net profit of Rs 1,968 crore compared to Rs 182 crore in the previous year. Revenue grew 74% YoY to Rs 11,903 crore.
UPL net profit grew 72% YoY to Rs 1,063 crore from Rs 617 crore in the year ago period. Revenue grew 15% to Rs 12,845 crore from Rs 11,162 crore YoY.
Godrej Consumer consolidated net profit grew 59% to Rs 365.84 crore during the Jan-Mar 2021 quarter compared to Rs 229.90 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Dwarikesh Sugar net profit grew 9% to Rs 48.2 crore from Rs 44.3 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue jumped 30% to Rs 600 crore against Rs 461.7 crore, YoY.
Dishman Carbogen reported a net loss of Rs 135.02 crore against a net profit of Rs 50.19 crore in the year-ago period. Sales barely grew by 3.36% YoY to Rs 529.32 crore. 
Voltas net profit jumped 49.7% YoY to Rs 238.7 crore. Revenue went up 26.9% to Rs 2,651.7 crore compared to Rs 2,089.6 crore in the year ago period.
Saregama net profit came in at Rs 37 crore against Rs 15.8 crore YoY. Revenue grew 13.6% YoY to Rs 123.5 crore compared to Rs 108.7 crore in the year ago period.
