Nifty, Sensex Trending Up - Monday Closing Report

We had mentioned in Friday’s closing report that Nifty and Sensex snaps 5-day winning streak; ends flat. On Monday, the indices opened gap up and ended with gain. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), 1,258 stocks advanced, 821 declined and 67 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.53, indicating strength in broader markets.

Hero Motocorp will invest additional Rs 450 crore in Ather Energy to increase its stake by 1-2%. The stock closed 5% higher.
UltraTech Cement’s Q3FY21-22 revenue was up by 6% to Rs 12,984 crore and the profit was up by 7.9% to Rs 1,710 crore on a year-on-year basis. The margins contracted by 670 bps 18.6%. The stock closed 2.78% higher.
KEC International has received new orders worth Rs 1,112 crore. The stock was down around 1%.
Ajmera Realty is set to develop residential project at Wadala with an estimated sale value of Rs 1500 crore. The stock closed 5% higher.
Maruti Suzuki stock closed 2% higher after it increased prices of its models by up to 4.3%. 
HCL stock was down more than 5% after posting lower than expected numbers and reduced margin guidance.
Metro Brands shares closed around 20% higher after declaring better than expected results.
Capacite Infraprojects has received Rs 231 crore work order from Raymond Realty in Mumbai. The stock closed around 0.5% lower.
Indian Oil Corporation will invest Rs 7,000 crore to set up city gas distribution network in licensed cities.
