Sharp selloff in Nifty, Sensex – Tuesday Closing Report

We had mentioned in Monday’s closing report that Nifty and Sensex trending up. On Tuesday, the indices opened gap up and ended deeply in red. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), 484 stocks advanced, 1,573 declined, and 43 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 0.31.

Nazara Technologies will acquire 55% stake in programmatic advertising and monetization company Datawrkz for Rs 124 crore. The stock closed 2.5% lower.
ICICI Securities Q3FY21-22 revenue went up by 51.8% to Rs 941 crore as compared Rs 620 crore in the same period last year. The net profit increased by 42.4% to Rs 380.3 crore on a y-o-y basis.
Tata Motors will raise the prices of its passenger vehicles by an average of 0.9% from 19 Jan. The company has also taken a price reduction of up to Rs 10,000 on specific variants.
Newgen Software’s Q3FY21-22 revenue increased by 9.1% to Rs 202.5 on a y-o-y (year-on-year) basis. The net profit increased by 35% to Rs 47.8 crore.
Tech Mahindra’s board has approved the acquisition of Com Tech Co IT. The stock closed 3% lower. 
Tatva Chintan Pharma stock was down by 9% after it reported sequential fall in revenue and operating profits. 
TV18 Broadcast’s Q3FY21-22 revenue increased by 15.5% to Rs 1,567 crore on a y-o-y basis. The net profit declined by 17.4% to Rs 311 crore.
According to TRAI’s November 2021 telecom subscribers data, Jio and Airtel have added 20.19 lakh and 13.18 lakh subscribers whereas Vodafone Idea has lost 18.97 lakh subscribers.
