In 2003, I had the privilege of being a part of the Narayana Murthy Committee on Corporate Governance set up by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The committee made some tough recommendations, many of which have now become a part of the ‘voluntary’ code prescribed by the ministry of corporate affairs.
