July 29, 2014

The CIC directed the PIO to provide information of the mammoth probe into a bogus LTC case that was going on for over 11 years. This is the 203rd in a series of important RTI judgements given by former Central Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi

The Central Information Commission (CIC), while allowing an appeal, directed the Public Information Officer (PIO) of Directorate of Education in Delhi to provide complete information about the probe into bogus leave travel concession (LTC) case that was going on for over 11 years. The PIO was not providing the information asked under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, despite directions from the First Appellate Authority (FAA).
